Crocus - What's it All About?

The Crocus is a beautiful, vibrant flower that symbolizes strength and growth by its ability to thrive in the harsh late-winter months in Ukraine.  The Crocus flower has the ability to come up through the snow and bloom with bright purple, yellow, and orange colors.

The Charitable Fund for Youth with Special Needs in Kolomyia is called "Crocus".  The life of people with disabilities can be compared to the life of a crocus flower.  In the Spring, the parents give these children life.  The Autumn represents a future life, which will be given to them by the people that surround them in the community and society.  In such an organization as “Crocus”, children and youth feel comfortable without feeling limitations and can communicate as equals.

The new Crocus logo includes vibrant colors, movement, individuality and community.  The hand print placed at the "O" in KPOKC represents the individual.  The multiple hands replace the Crocus flower petals to represent community, and the fingers are slightly curved to show positive movement. The colors are vibrant like the personality of the special needs population.
